Rochester Electric Vehicle Accelerator’s Workplace Charger Challenge

Join SunCommon at the Rochester Chamber SPOTlight- Workplace Charging– March 6th at 4:45 to 7pm

SunCommon is delighted to be one of six companies to join the Rochester Electric Vehicle Accelerator’s Workplace Charger Challenge! Sponsored by the Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce, this challenge will encourage other businesses to install electric vehicle (EV) chargers onsite for employees —and take a step toward a brighter future.

SunCommon began with two EV charging stations in 2016 and within one year, increased to six charging stations due to demand by both employee-owned and company-owned EVs. It is no doubt that EVs are key to making our transportation grid and our communities healthier and more sustainable.

These U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) statistics demonstrate the importance of EVs:

  • An annual average of 33 miles driven per day in a EV can reduce 1.3 million gallons of gasoline and 13 million pounds of Greenhouse Gases
  • Employees were 6 times more likely to drive a plug-in electric vehicle than employees that did not have access to charging at work
  • 80% of employers in the national DOE challenge offered EV charging as a benefit to retain and attract a more talented modern workforce

SunCommon installs Telsa and Aerovironment (all other vehicles) charging stations. We aim to make the greening of our grid as easy as possible for our fellow business partners and community members.

Join us on March 6th to test drive our EVs and others while learning how to install a charging station at your business.
