Why We’re Offering Such a Huge Discount this Winter

People don’t usually think about solar in the Winter, but we need climate action year round

It makes sense. While the days are still short and the snow squalls keep coming, people aren’t thinking about the six to eight hours of clean power that can get injected directly into their power grid come summer.

But here’s what people don’t know: The system rewards early adopters. The idea behind a declining incentive for new technology is that as technology and companies mature, incentives becomes less important for the survival of the industry. But did you know that people who go solar earlier in the year also save more?  The reason people save money with solar is that all the energy from the sun accumulated over the year goes to offset their electric usage. So if you install solar earlier in the year, you’ll generate more power, meaning more solar credit to draw on in the winter.

Additionally, “holding warming to 1.5 degrees […] would entail a staggering transformation of the global energy system beyond what world leaders are contemplating today.”
