Flexibility

We’ve made solar as easy as a monthly subscription. CSA Members use solar power to offset (most) of their electricity bill for as long as they want. Need out? No problem.

Savings

CSA members buy solar credits at a discounted rate. For every $10 in solar credits, offsetting your utility bill, you might pay $9. Each one of our arrays is a bit different, but savings range between 5% and 10%.

Control

What do you think your utility rate will be next year?  In three years? CSA members aren’t at the whim of utility rate changes.

Oh yeah, and you get solar

Opening your utility bill will feel great – a monthly reminder that your power comes from the sun. Clean. Beautiful. Abundant. Sunshine.

Step 2: Reserve your spot. Review and sign your paperwork—all through our easy web portal.

Step 3: Set up your account.  We’ll need some information from you, so you’re ready to receive solar credits as soon as your CSA is producing power.

FAQs

Our primary goals with subscription CSA membership are ease and flexibility.  Easy in, easy out. So, there really is no down payment—no check to write to get started.  As part of the setup process, we may charge you just one cent to confirm your billing information.  One cent. Then once your CSA is up and running, your monthly payments begin. Your first payment will include a one-month deposit, which is returned to you later on.

Under state law, your utility company translates solar power into monetary value on your utility bill. Your utility may call it “solar credits” or “bill credits” on your monthly statement. Either way, it’s a negative value that offsets your electricity charges. Solar credits accrue more as the sun shines, so summer is when the array will produce most of its power for the year. Your solar credits will build up during the sunny months, which will create a bank of credits that you can use in the winter.

CSA members can monitoring  how much solar power their array is producing. But be careful — it’s a little bit addictive! At the end of each 12-month cycle, our team sharpens their pencils to confirm that each CSA member has only paid for the solar credits they’ve received.  If the array has produced a bit less solar than a member has paid for, then we refund them for the difference. If the array has produced a bit more solar than a member has paid for, then we charge the difference. And, of course, members receive a copy of this accounting.  Most years the array does produce a little more or a little less than we anticipated, but we’re usually pretty close!
