The Dutchess County Interfaith Council + SunCommon Solar Partnership Program

As the Hudson Valley’s local solar company and a leading installer in the region, we pride ourselves in supporting organizations within our community, especially ones that share our goal of creating a healthy environment, safer world, and being a force for good. That’s why we are proud to partner with Dutchess County Interfaith Council (DCIC) to offer $500 off a solar system to any congregant that is affiliated with a “Member” congregation of DCIC. (Congregant must qualify for residential solar, with pre-qualification determined via a Google Form or a 5-minute phone screening.) In addition, once a congregant signs a solar agreement and is installed as a customer of SunCommon, SunCommon will give $500 to that congregant’s member congregation. SunCommon will also offer a $25 donation to a charity or organization chosen by DCIC for every congregant that chooses to meet with SunCommon for a Solar Visit (free consultation). This visit is an opportunity for the congregant to understand the value proposition and make an informed decision about going solar at their own home, though there is no obligation to do so.

Who We Are

SunCommon was founded in 2012 and in 2018 merged with Hudson Solar (est. 2002) to address the climate crisis and act as a market solution to climate change. It is the only certified B Corporation in the states of VT and NY in the solar industry, as well as only 1 of 10 NYSERDA Gold Quality Installers out of 316 solar contractors in the entire state of New York. It is our mission to accelerate the transition to solar power in our communities because ensuring a habitable planet is the most important work of our lifetimes. Our role goes beyond installing solar panels. Creating a brighter future for all inhabitants of the planet demands collective action. Our common humanity is what binds us, and we are happy to offer opportunities to educate and work together with people of all ideologies and faiths to help accomplish that goal.
