George, a recent transplant from Florida, is one of SunCommons’ Solar Electricians. In his home town of St. Augustine, George pursued a bachelor degree in Renewable Energies and with that knowledge he quickly found himself employed as an electrician. With that position he obtained a great deal of knowledge he is ready to put to use to help everyone live in a healthy environment and have a brighter future.
After meeting the woman of his dreams, a native Vermonter, he married and started a family. A family that has now grown to include 3 children. In Florida, George really enjoyed the outdoors. George is an avid fisherman who loves baseball, and is super excited to learn the Vermont way of enjoying the outdoors. Snow, Ice, and all!
Unfortunately, George has witnessed first hand the effects of climate change. His hometown has fallen victim to sea level rise, freshwater salinification, red tides, and algae blooms. As well as an overall moister climate resulting in more, deadlier storms. Such as hurricanes like Matthew and Irene, which was devastating even here in VT! All of this influenced his decision to follow his wife’s wishes to move his family to Vermont and be a force for good. We can tell George is really excited to be here doing this, and when you meet him we know you will agree!
