New York’s solar incentives are pretty sweet – but they’re changing soon.

New York State has one of the best programs in the nation to help us go solar. On an average sized system, incentives and tax credits take care of over 50% of the cost. Wow – that’s incredible! And it’s helping us get to 50% renewables by 2030. BUT the incentives are changing.

The NYSERDA incentive is going down over 40%, likely in September. And the federal tax credit is going down from 30% to 26% this year as well. These changes together mean leaving more than $2000 on the table for the average sized system.
