SunCommon Has You Covered with Solar Insure
In a typical solar installation, every major component comes with manufacturer’s warranties, which usually cover anywhere from 12-25 years. This protects you against any product defects and provides peace of mind that you’ll be protected if something goes wrong. However, these warranties just cover the components, not the labor and homeowners often are surprised to learn that if a repair is necessary, they may not cover the full cost.
After many years of servicing warranty replacements for our own customers, we’ve decided to add a new layer of protection for all of our new rooftop solar installations: Solar Insure.
Solar Insure enhances existing product warranties in two important ways:
- It extends the time of coverage to 30 years. If you don’t plan to live in your house that long, that’s okay- your Solar Insure warranty can be transferred to the next owner.
- It covers more than major components- significantly, it includes labor costs for repairs at the site of roof penetrations. For many customers, one of their biggest worries is that we will be creating holes in their roof. Solar Insure provides peace of mind that if a leak occurs from the site of the mechanical fasteners, we can fix it without expense to the homeowner.
As of today, SunCommon is the only Vermont solar company and one of a few in the Hudson Valley in New York that furthers the protection of your solar investment with these enhanced warranties. Solar Insure put SunCommon through a rigorous review process to confirm that our workmanship is top notch and that our equipment is high-quality before naming us a Certified Provider – we’re quite proud of that!
“I love being able to tell our customers that their investment in solar will be covered thoroughly and that SunCommon will stand behind our product for the life of their system,” said Mike McCarthy, SunCommon’s Director of Sales. “Knowing that we have an industry-leading warranty that most other companies can’t offer helps people feel that much more comfortable with making the decision to switch to clean energy.”
