JULIA KANTAROVSKY

Web Developer

SunCommon's IT Gurus work behind the scenes to make our innovative ideas a reality by creating creative digital tools and resources.

Julia grew up in upstate New York and studied viola performance at Boston University. After college she moved to Israel to volunteer and continue her music studies at Tel Aviv University, eventually completing two Masters degrees. She spent over a decade in the Middle East playing and teaching viola, and saw firsthand the challenges that come with our dwindling energy and water resources. She has two young boys, and deeply believes in finding more practical, affordable solutions for their energy future in a more crowded world.

After moving to Vermont and studying at the Burlington Code Academy, she started noticing similarities between the music she performed and the code she wrote. She brings her experience in both fields to the IT team at Suncommon. She is excited to do her part in helping Vermonters and New Yorkers go solar.

Julia lives in Burlington with her husband Yoni and her kids Eitan and Mati. She loves traveling around Vermont with her family on the weekends, and can usually be found at Shelburne Farms exploring tractors with her boys.
