JOANN SWAPP
JoAnn joined SunCommon as the Vice President of Operations in January of 2022 to guide the team in maintaining superior solar installation. She previously spent three and a half years managing engineering and operations for Integra Optics, a fiber optic component company, leading them through their acquisition by Infinite Electronics in 2019.
Prior to her career in the private sector, JoAnn served 22 years in the US Navy, starting as an enlisted nuclear electrician and working her way up to the rank of Lieutenant Commander via the Limited Duty Officer Commissioning Program. During her career in the Navy, she completed numerous deployments on board multiple naval vessels, serving in many capacities from engineer to ship driver to anti-terrorism officer. Her naval experience instilled a deep sense of commitment to public service, taught her how to manage resources effectively, and honed her aptitude for leadership. While on active duty, she also completed a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management from Trident University and a Master Project Management Certificate from Villanova.
JoAnn resides in upstate NY and enjoys spending her free time with her daughter Sophia and her three pups, Dexter, Paxton, and Bacchus. Her passions include baseball and experiencing culture through travel.
