Hudson Solar Merger FAQ

SunCommon and Hudson Solar both were founded on the principles of helping people save money and doing something about climate change. Together, we can reach more people and scale the business to bring about a cleaner, healthier, and brighter future. This was the right time to join together so we can better tear down barriers to clean energy and use our business as a force for good.

The name mostly, and the addition of some new, friendly faces. We’ll be adding new resources and products to better serve our customers and communities, but we’re the same people with commitment to quality work and integrity.

Nope. This is not your average merger. There will be efficiencies created by bringing the two companies together but not at the expense of staff. Instead, SunCommon invited the entire Hudson Solar staff to a mini-retreat in Waterbury, VT where the company is headquartered and welcomed our new colleagues with open arms.

Absolutely. Call our Customer Service team at 845-876-3767 x122 and the same crew will take care of any issues, either over the phone or by sending someone out to your home, school, or business.

Yes, 100%! There are no changes to your equipment warranties (held by the equipment manufacturer) or to the workmanship warranty (held by Hudson Solar and now SunCommon). Like always, call us if any questions or concerns arise.

Yes, our office number is still the same (845-876-3767), and while we now have SunCommon email addresses, our old ones will forward to us. So continue contacting us in the ways you’re used to.

Nope, the Hudson Valley office headquarters will still be located in Rhinebeck on Hook Road. As we grow and expand, we hope to add additional offices in other parts of New York.

The Albany office closed in April. There were marketing and sales staff working out of that office, and in an effort to become more green and family friendly, that staff are now working from home. Installation crews also go straight from their homes in the Albany area directly to our customers’ sites.

For the immediate future, if you have a contract with Hudson Solar, continue to write checks to Hudson Solar. If you go solar by signing a contract with SunCommon, then write checks to SunCommon. Your sales representative (now called Solar Home Advisor) will be able to answer this question individually as well.
