Save on a New Powerwall 3!
Snow storms are here and so is a new rebate on the Powerwall 3! Tesla just rolled out the “Next Million Powerwall Rebate”, making energy independence more affordable for solar customers. Homeowners who sign a contract for a Tesla Powerwall 3 system between November 2025 and March 2026 can receive up to $1,000 back. The rebate comes directly to homeowners as a Virtual Prepaid Visa Gift Card, making it easy to apply these savings toward your installation costs or other home improvements. And unlike traditional manufacturer rebates Tesla has streamlined the process to make claiming your rebate straightforward and quick.
How Does it Work?
Tesla’s Next Million Powerwall Rebate is a program designed to help you gain more energy independence with home energy storage. The program offers $500 for each Powerwall 3 or Powerwall 3 Expansion Unit installed, with a maximum rebate of $1,000 per address. This means you can receive $500 for a single Powerwall 3 installation, or the full $1,000 if you install two Powerwall 3 units or one Powerwall 3 with an expansion unit.
Whether you’re installing solar panels with battery storage for the first time, adding a Powerwall to an existing solar or battery system, or even installing battery storage as a standalone backup solution, you can qualify for this rebate. So even if you installed solar panels years ago, you can add battery storage to your system and take advantage of the rebate. AND the rebate can be combined with other incentives, including NYSERDA’s $5,000 battery incentive, Green Mountain Power’s battery lease program, and Vermont Electric Co-Op’s Flexible Load Program.
Claiming your Tesla Powerwall rebate is easy:
- Register for your rebate between November 1, 2025, and March 31, 2026, through Tesla’s dedicated portal and upload your sales contract to verify your purchase. This initial registration locks in your rebate eligibility.
- Complete your installation between January 1 and September 30, 2026, then return to the portal to confirm your system details and submit your final rebate claim.
- Receive your Virtual Prepaid Visa Rewards Gift Card within three to seven weeks after approval, usable anywhere Visa is accepted.
About the Powerwall 3
Understanding what you’re investing in helps explain why the Powerwall 3 is such an advancement in home energy storage. Tesla has refined their battery technology over more than a decade, and the Powerwall 3 incorporates lessons learned from one million installations worldwide.
The Powerwall 3 delivers 11.5 kW of continuous power, an increase over previous generations. This amount of power will run most household appliances simultaneously, including devices like heat pumps, electric water heaters, and electric vehicle chargers. With 13.5 kWh of usable storage, Powerwall 3 is capable of running household essentials for 24 hours, or your full household with many hours of electricity.
