Tonight, 20 stores in downtown Rutland will participate in Downtown Rutland Partnership’s 12 Days Before Christmas shopping event with extended hours until 9 p.m.
SunCommon’s new offices in Rutland — inside Small Dog Electronics on West Street — will present a pop-up art gallery, filled with works from local artists from 5 to 9 p.m.
“The pop-up gallery is SunCommon’s way of inviting the public into our downtown Rutland space during the holiday season, supporting local artists and connecting with the community,” said Steve Peters, who is the new solar community organizer for SunCommon.
“We plan to use our recently acquired space for a variety of fun and educational events in the coming months,” he said.
Peters added that SunCommon has had success with pop-up galleries in other Vermont cities and this gallery features artwork incorporating themes related to nature, sustainability and solar energy.
